"Rookiemag.com is not a guide to being a teen or a textbook on how to be a young woman. It's the publication for teenage girls intending to make the best of the cringe-worthy awkwardness and sometimes sort of beautiful pain that is female adolescence. When it becomes harder to appreciate these things, we also have good plain fun and visual pleasure. When you're sick of having to be happy we have lots of eye-rolling sarcasm. And now, what started as an online magazine is in print, too."

I'm a fan of Rookie Mag, well basically just a Tavi Gevinson fan really. I've followed her for like ever and watched interviews with her, and she's pretty much just all around cool. I don't feel like I ever really admire anyone, or feel like I have something awesome in common with some one that often. But I watched this interview she did a little bit ago, and I as she was talking I kind of forgot it was some one else for a minute. A lot of what she was saying I had been thinking about for so long. Especially the part where she talks about having a movie, or whatever. Wow this sounds actually really generic but WTVR. I'll link the video anyway:
"Aesthetically cataloguing things the way that I do with my room and my books and my blog."
Basically.
The whole (year) book is filled with awesome clip art of flowers, jewels, cake, ect. Pictures of cool looking girls practicing seances, interviews with people like Sky Ferreira, advice, stories and other useful and visually appealing things.
I picked my copy up at Quimby's in Chicago.
I would highly suggest you go out and snag a copy of Rookie Yearbook ONE!
It looks awesome on my coffee table, by the way. And would probably look good on yours too.
XOXO
